CLT Panels installed at IPC Ealing

Works on site at the International Presbyterian Church, Ealing are developing well with the recent installation of the steel frame and CLT roof panels.

HTS, in collaboration with architects Piercy & Co and timber specialist KLH, designed the folded roof as a CLT diaphragm supported by a steel skeleton. The panel joints of the CLT are designed to transfer any lateral loads back to the vertically braced steel frame.

The structural roof soffit will be fully exposed in the main hall and lobby areas with thin three-layer softwood boards to be installed below beam lines.

Structural elements yet to be completed include the brick clad feature entrance frame and connections to the listed chapel building.
