New housing scheme win at planning awards


Laindon Centre has made the AJ Architecture Awards 2017 shortlist for Masterplan of the Year. The project’s latest success follows a recent win at  National Housing Awards for Best Scheme in Planning and shortlisting for the Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) Award for Planning Excellence.

The regeneration plans have been developed in close consultation with the local community and involve the creation of 88 new build CLT freehold houses, 136 apartments and the creation of a new high street with retail units.

Other projects shortlisted for the AJ’s Architecture Awards 2017 include; 30 Broadwick Street (Workplace of the Year), a 120,000 sqft new build office development with Emrys Architects for Great Portland Estates, and The Loom (Refurb of the Year), a renovation of a Victorian wool warehouse to provide 100,000 sqft of unique workspace in the heart of Whitechapel with Duggan Morris Architects for Helical Bar.
