We're delighted to announce that The Loom and Redchurch Street have both won a RIBA London Award 2017.
The Loom, working with Duggan Morris Architects for client Helical Bar provides 100,000 sqft of unique workspace in the heart of Whitechapel. The ground floor was opened up by incorporating a number of steel frames through the load-bearing masonry walls, with a particular challenge to install these whilst tenants remained on the upper floors.
Redchurch Street, in collabration with vPPR Architects for Redchurch Property involved the transformation of a Shoreditch warehouse into a series of shops with apartments at the upper levels. Structural alterations included relocation of stair and lift cores and formation of a new basement level below the existing building. Large openings were formed in the front elevation for new retail frontage.
