Alex Herman

Alex joined Heyne Tillett Steel in December 2016, he leads our civil engineering team and has over 16 years professional experience as an infrastructure engineer on schemes across the UK and overseas. He has been responsible for the civil design and project management for a number of large scale industrial regeneration developments with complex earthworks, drainage, services diversion and remediation issues.

One of Alex’s recent key projects includes 3MG, a vast multi-phased regeneration scheme at the former ICI chemical plant on the River Mersey Estuary for Stobart Group, whilst at W.A. Fairhurst & Partners. He also worked on London Southend Airport, which included the construction of a new passenger terminal building, aircraft apron and associated passenger car park, rail terminal link and airside road access. At Beam Reach, Alex worked on the redevelopment of the old Ford Dagenham plant into a 500,000 sq ft distribution centre and recycling facility.

Prior to joining Heyne Tillett Steel, Alex also worked at AKT II for five years on a broad range of projects including the design of complex pumped drainage networks, working with AKT II’s building structures team on the foul and sub-surface drainage of deep basements for Kings Cross Central B1 (BNP Paribas UK headquarters) and B3 (Camden Council Civic Offices).

At HTS Alex is currently working on a largescale new build commercial development which includes integrating sustainable drainage systems into a new structure, complex flooding issues, a multi-storey carpark connected to the main building and landscaping across the site.
