MEng (Hons) CEng MIStructE

University of Bath

Andrew is a design-focused engineer who enjoys finding simple, intelligent solutions to structural problems. He uses sketching to inspire his design ideas and effectively communicate thought processes, and passionately believes close collaboration across design disciplines is the key to achieving engineering excellence on projects.

Andrew graduated in 2008 and joined Elliott Wood Partnership where he worked on a wide range of projects from award winning public health and educational schemes to bespoke new build houses and sensitive alterations to grade I and II* listed buildings.

He joined Heyne Tillett Steel in 2015 following two years in Lebanon and Iraq working as a Shelter Project Manager for an international NGO, Medair. Andrew was made an Associate Director in 2020.

Andrew has recently completed works on 60 London Wall, a £130m heavy refurbishment of an existing 1990s steel frame commercial building with EPR Architects. He is currently working on the redevelopment of Denys Lasduns IBM building with AHMM architects and the refurbishment of City Gate House, a 1930’s clay pot and steel frame structure, with Stiff & Trevillion architects.

He previously worked with Hopkins architects on the design of Herne Hill Velodrome, a new contemporary Glulam/CLT pavilion, which was awarded an IStructE structural award in 2018.
