Andy Heyne

Director

BEng (Hons) DIS CEng MIStructE

University of Loughborough

Andy has over 25 years’ experience as a London-based structural engineer, working on a diverse range of projects with the UK’s leading architects and clients.
He particularly enjoys opportunities to contribute to quality architecture, whether through finding creative structural solutions to unusual architectural forms, or by directly exposing the structure within the finished building.

Andy considers his best attribute to be his strong technical skills, having successfully delivered award-winning projects using an expansive array of structural materials and responses, and where both appropriate and beneficial is always keen to innovate by incorporating new materials, technologies and ideas. His approach has a strong collaborative emphasis, believing that successful buildings depend upon close integration across all disciplines, which in turn necessitate excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of all aspects of building design.

Having worked on over 30 projects at HTS using engineered timber, Andy is a keen proponent of mass timber structures, and regularly talks and writes articles within the wider sector. He is currently working on The Gramophone Works, Technique, Brent Cross South and Grays Inn Road amongst others.
