Richard is an Associate at Heyne Tillett Steel (HTS), with an analytical, enthusiastic, and engaging work ethic when involved on engineering project design and delivery. His experience from site has allowed him to offer Clients and Contractors valuable input on buildability and engineering solutions tailored to their needs.

With 8 years' experience, Richard has worked on a broad range of projects across the UK and Ireland in both the residential and commercial sectors, working for engineering consultancies of varying scales. Over recent years he has gained significant exposure to refurbishment projects, primarily focused on high-end private residential and retrofitted basements.

Since joining HTS, Richard has led the refurbishment of 25 Moorgate, an existing 7-storey commercial building with proposed two additional storeys and core reconfiguration. Richard has also been actively involved in the design and management of Brent Cross South Plot 1, a 13-storey precast concrete frame with CLT floors. His work on both projects has involved analytical calculations of the new and existing structure, managing the internal HTS workload and engaging with the external design team to meet key project deadlines.

In his previous roles at WSP, Fluid Structures and Axiom Structures, Richard worked on various residential and commercial schemes, ranging from £1-200 million. This has allowed him to develop a broad range of skills, both analytically and commercially, that allow him to make a notable contribution to HTS projects. He passed his chartership exam in 2019 and was promoted to Associate in September 2023.
