The project involves the complete redevelopment of an inner city site just North of Oxford Street.
The existing site is made up of 2 large Victorian terraced office buildings that have been extended considerably in the 1990s. The existing buildings will be completely removed with the front façade retained. The new building will fall approximately within the envelope of the existing and provide light industrial space at basement and Ground floors with Office space from first to 5th floor.
The new structure is of steel frame construction supporting composite concrete slabs. The new frame will provide large virtually column free office space and a sloping fully glazed façade to the rear. The scheme involves careful coordination between the temporary works to support the retained facade and the proposed new structural frame.
