This project is a new build dental practice in Chelmsford. The building is predominately single storey providing consultation space and a reception area. There is an addition floating box at its centre providing a first floor level office space. The building was sunk into the ground to provide large floor to ceiling heights in the main space. The structure is a steel frame supporting timber and glazed facades and a timber roof. The foundations are simple concrete trench fill with reinforced concrete retaining walls. The steel frame has been carefully detailed to produce a seamless structure to the complicated geometry of the building. The main elevation of the building has large timber solar shading fins suspended from the front of the building.
