1562 - HTS+ Composite Design in Timber

HTS+ Composite design in timber has been developed with a view to making timber framed buildings a more viable option for commercial developments.

In collaboration with City University London, HTS have been researching the use of mechanical fixings to develop composite action between CLT floor panels and glulam beam elements. The aim of this research has been to achieve a structurally efficient solution utilising both engineered timber products in combination, thus driving down overall material quality and structural depth.

HTS recently completed the second full-scale test which ended in an exciting failure, exceeding our expectations. Although the results are still to be fully analysed, we are confident of achieving our project aim.
