0988 - Berkshire House

Caversham

This project involved the demolition of an existing load-bearing masonry two storey house and build of a new, steel framed, modern private house. The new building is supported on a new piled raft slab above external ground level, to provide minimal disruption to the underlying, protected tree routes. Large clear spans, cantilevered first floor and balcony areas as well as a 6m high feature rear double door dictate the structural steel frame, with metal deck concrete slabs within for acoustic reasons.
